Detectives sought the public's help today in a search for whoever shot and wounded an 18-month-old girl and a 10-year-old girl in separate incidents in Compton in the past two weeks.
The 18-month-old girl was shot and wounded around 9:30 p.m. Sunday in the 1800 block of 137th Street, according to a statement issued by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Compton Station.
The 10-year-old girl was shot and wounded around 5 p.m. March 2 in the 1800 block of East San Luis Street, the statement said.
Both girls survived the shootings.
Detectives and the victims' families plan today to publicize the search for whoever shot the girls during a news conference at 10 a.m. at the Compton Sheriff's Station, 310 S. Willowbrook Ave.
