Body of man found in Ballona Creek

DEL REY - Authorities removed the body of a man found in Ballona Creek in Del Rey today, authorities said.

The body of a man in his mid 30s was discovered near the Lincoln Boulevard bridge about 9:15 a.m., spokesman Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

A citizen found the body and called 911, Scott said.

The coroner was en route to the scene, between Marina del Rey and Playa Vista, he said.

There were no further details immediately available, he said.
