Man shot blocks away from Sunday night Long Beach shooting

A man was seriously wounded in a shooting in Long Beach a few blocks from where three boys were shot Sunday night.

The latest shooting occurred around 10 p.m. Monday on Pacific Boulevard near Cypress Way, according to an On Scene camera crew that reached the site shortly after the incident. There was no immediate comment from the Long Beach Police Department.

The wounded man lay motionless on the ground before paramedics took him to a hospital, On Scene reported.

On Sunday night, a 12-year-old boy was critically wounded and two 15-year-olds were also shot. Police believed the Sunday night shootings were related to each other, said Long Beach police Sgt. Dina Zapalski.

The younger boy was shot near Seventh Street and Magnolia Avenue about 10 p.m. Sunday, and the teens were targeted a couple of blocks away, she said.

The 12-year-old is from Hawaiian Gardens, and was attending a family barbecue when he was shot. The 15-year-olds, who are from Long Beach, were wounded while riding bicycles at Seventh Street and Daisy Avenue, police said.

The names of the three boys were not released.
