58-foot fishing boat runs aground south of Santa Ana River

A 58-foot fishing boat went aground just south of the Santa Ana River before dawn today, and all four people aboard made it ashore unharmed, authorities said.

The Pacific Bully, a trawler, ran aground about 3:20 a.m., according to sheriff's deputies and the U.S. Coast Guard, which sent a 41-foot boat to the scene from Los Angeles Harbor. An Orange County rescue vessel also was dispatched.

Salvage crews were working to refloat the vessel this morning, and a contractor was hired to handle any threat of pollution from the boat.
