Assembly Speaker John Perez is in Washington, D.C. this week. He’s meeting with Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, White House officials, and congressional leaders, looking for money that California can use to pay for its share of new health care mandates.
California has one of the highest uninsured rates in the country – a third of adults under 65 have no insurance. Governor Schwarzenegger was there not that long ago, looking for money.
