Strong winds are expected today across the high desert and mountains, where there's a possibility of rain and snow.
The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for Antelope Valley through 9 p.m. Tuesday and one for the mountains through 11 p.m. tonight.
In the mountains, forecasters predicted a slight chance of rain in the lower elevations and snow at elevations of 5,500 feet or more. A high wind watch will be in effect through Tuesday night.
In the Antelope Valley, gusts up to 40 mph or more are possible.
In the Los Angeles Basin, the winds will be out of the west, peaking at 15-25 mph this afternoon, with some gusts of 30 mph or more.
Highs will be in the 60s and 70s, and breezy conditions are expected to persist through Tuesday.
