Water tanker overturns on Foothill Freeway in Pasadena

A water tanker overturned on the eastbound Foothill (210) Freeway in Pasadena today.

The accident happened on the connector road at the junction with the Ventura (134) Freeway about 1:50 a.m., and the California Highway Patrol closed lanes under the Orange Grove Boulevard bridge.

CHP Officer Patrick Kimball said the tractor trailer was carrying 45,000 pounds of water.

About 20 gallons of fuel and five gallons of oil spilled, and a guard rail was damaged, he said.

The connector road remained closed as of about 4:30 a.m.
