High surf advisory issued for Orange, San Diego county coasts

A big surf will be running across Southern California this weekend, with west-facing beaches getting some sets up to about 8 feet.

The National Weather Service issued high surf advisories for the Orange and San Diego county coasts, effective today through midnight Sunday.

Waves along Los Angeles County beaches will be slightly smaller, 2-4 feet with some sets up to 6 feet, according to the NWS.

Surf zone water temperatures will be in the low 60s.

Saturday's waves will be likely be biggest along west-facing beaches in Orange and San Diego counties.
