Man shot in Hollywood early this morning

A man was shot in Hollywood today.

The shooting on Saint Andrews Place between Lexington and La Mirada avenues was reported about 2:25 a.m., Los Angeles police Sgt. Alex Ortiz said.

The wounded man, whose name was withheld, was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Ortiz said. He was in surgery as of 4 a.m., Ortiz said.

Detectives were at the scene early today.

Police got about a dozen calls about the shooting, Ortiz said.
