Police allege Pomona barber shop owner selling pot

POMONA - The owner of a Pomona barber shop was arrested today when police discovered he was offering prepackaged bags of marijuana from his shop.

Pomona police working a bicycle detail suspected there was possible narcotics sales around the Groom Time Barber Shop at 924 E. Holt Ave., said Sgt. Chuck Becker of the Pomona Police Department.

Officers detected the scent of marijuana coming from a parked white 1993 Buick Le Sabre in an alley at the back of the barber shop, Becker said.

During a search of the car, officers found 35 grams of individually packaged marijuana baggies.

Marlon Singleton, 39, of Rancho Cucamonga, was arrested for possession for sales and held in lieu of a $50,000 bail. Police said he owns the barber shop.
