Today is the last day to request a vote-by-mail ballot for the June primary. Here's how you can make sure that your ballot gets counted.
In California’s last primary election for statewide offices, almost half the votes were mailed in. One hazard of voting by mail is that some people forget to mail in their ballots early enough.
If you’re voting by mail, make sure that ballot gets into the hands of your county election officials by Election Day. That’s Tuesday, June 8 – one week from today.
The California Democratic Party is already telling its party members to drop those ballots in the mail by Friday.
But whether you’re a Democrat or a Republican or something else, don’t panic if you don’t get your ballot in the mail this week. You can still drop off that vote-by-mail ballot at your local polling place on the day of the June primary. Just make sure you do it by 8 o’clock that night.
