Pipe bombs removed from Garden Grove home, 2 people arrested

Two suspected pipe bombs were removed from a Garden Grove home and detonated today, and at least two people were arrested.

Authorities raided a home in the 6500 block of Chapman Avenue about 9 p.m. Tuesday, removed two suspicious items and detonated them in a containment vessel about 5 a.m., according to a Orange County sheriff's Lt. Ted Boyne.

Some surrounding homes were evacuated, and some roads were closed.

It was unclear what crimes the suspects may have been booked for. Their names were unavailable.
