Four Los Angeles police officers have been pulled from patrol duty while internal affairs investigates last week's videotaped confrontation between officers and bicyclists riding in a Hollywood rally in protest of BP and the Gulf oil spill.
The LAPD says the use-of-force investigation began after video of the Friday night incident was posted online and complaints were filed by some of the estimated 400 cyclists. A video posted on YouTube shows an officer appearing to kick at a passing bicyclist.
Cmdr. Andrew Smith said Wednesday that four officers involved in the clash have been removed from field duty during the investigation. The names of the officers haven't been released.
