SOUTH GATE — Federal officials announced the recall of about 35,000 pounds of ground beef distributed by a South Gate-based company due to possible E.coli contamination.
According to a U.S. Department of Agriculture notice issued Tuesday, there have been no illnesses reported from the possible contamination, which was discovered through regular inspections.
The affected meat was distributed by South Gate Meat Co. between June 7 and Monday, according to the USDA.
The recalled products were 20-, 30- and 40-pound bulk packages of "South Gate Meat Co. Ground Beef''; 30-, 40- and 50-pound bulk packages of "South Gate Meat Co. Coarse Ground Beef''; and 10- and 20-pound packages of "South Gate Meat Co. Ground Beef Patties.''
