El Monte police seize 4 tons of fireworks

El Monte police have seized 4 tons of illegal fireworks valued at $275,000 from a Los Angeles-area residence and a convenience store.

El Monte police officials said Thursday that they raided two locations after they received an anonymous tip.

Police say $125,000 worth of illegal fireworks were seized from the home on Monday and about $150,000 worth of fireworks were found at a store in East Los Angeles on Tuesday. One person was arrested at the store.
