Police in Arcadia say 10 children have been taken to hospitals after becoming ill while swimming at a public pool.
Lt. Bob Anderson says about 30 children ages 6 to 11 were in the pool at a park in the suburb northeast of Los Angeles when some began complaining of breathing problems shortly before 11:30 a.m. Monday.
Ten were taken away for treatment but Anderson says they don't appear to have serious problems.
He says the respiratory problems appear to have stemmed from chlorine inadvertently released into the pool.
The Fire Department was called and the pool remains closed.
