A San Diego County supervisor has agreed to pay a $2,000 fine for violating state gift-reporting requirements.
Supervisors Pam Slater-Price failed to report that she received 26 free tickets to opera and theater performances between 2006 and 2008. The nonprofit groups involved have received more than $3 million in taxpayer money since 2003.
California's Fair Political Practices Commission announced Monday that Slater-Price had acknowledged 10 counts of violating gift-reporting requirements.
In a statement, Slater-Price declined to comment until after a settlement hearing later this month.
Earlier this year, however, the supervisor said the failure to report was an oversight and she's written checks to cover the cost of the tickets.
