A taxi driver has been arrested after Los Angeles police claim he tried to drive into a couple who disputed his fare and then crashed into a house.
Robert Kazaryan was arrested Wednesday night on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and he remains jailed Thursday on $30,000 bail.
An Italian couple on their honeymoon told investigators they took the cab from Beverly Hills to a Los Angeles home a few miles away but the trip took nearly an hour.
The driver wanted to charge them about $35.
The couple offered $26 but as they left the cab, they said the driver tried to hit them.
Police Lt. L. Sims says they got out of the way but the cab hit the door of the house as someone inside was opening it. That man was slightly injured by the door.
