Authorities bust giant SoCal Ecstasy ring

Federal officials say they've broken up a Southern California ring that sold millions of Ecstasy tablets.

The U.S. attorney's office says a federal grand jury in Los Angeles indicted 15 people on Wednesday for conspiracy to possess and distribute huge quantities of the party drug.

Most of those indicted have been arrested and could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

Authorities say the ring was based in the San Gabriel Valley, where a huge drug lab was found last month. Over the past seven months, federal agents and Beverly Hills police seized more than 1 million Ecstasy pills with an estimated street value of $17 million.

They also seized more than 70 pounds of cocaine, a half-million dollars in cash and 21 guns.
