Briefcase outside Buena Park fire station prompts bomb scare

BUENA PARK — Orange County Bomb Squad investigators determined a briefcase left outside a Buena Park fire station this afternoon only contained clothes, according to Buena Park police.

The squad was called to investigate a black briefcase at Orange County Fire Authority Station 62, 7780 Artesia Blvd., Buena Park Police Sgt. Bill Kohanek said.

The briefcase was found about 5 p.m. approximately halfway between the sidewalk and front door of the fire station, Kohanek said.

Streets near the fire station were closed as a precaution after the briefcase was found, Kohanek said.

No calls or other threats were received, Kohanek said.
