Man beaten, robbed of iPod in Silver Lake

A man told police he was beaten by several suspects early today near Bellevue Park in Silver Lake and robbed of his iPod.

The beating-robbery was reported just after midnight in the 800 block of Sanborn Avenue, Los Angeles police Sgt. Al Rodriguez of the Rampart Station said.

The man said he was beaten with a stick, but he declined to go to a hospital, Rodriguez said.

Paramedics attended to him at the scene, a news video cameraman reported.

There was another robbery in the area two hours earlier, Rodriguez said.

About 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, the victim was robbed but not beaten on the other side of Bellevue Park, at Descanso Drive and Robinson Street, Rodriguez said.

Suspect information in the robberies was not available.
