Suspect shot and killed after he rams police car in Colton
Authorities say officers shot and killed a 19-year-old carjacking suspect after he rammed a police cruiser following a chase in Colton.
The San Bernardino County coroner's office says David Romero, of Colton, was pronounced dead just after 1 a.m. Saturday.
The Riverside Press Enterprise reports the chase began after Romero failed to pull over for officers following a traffic violation. He led them into an apartment complex, where he shifted into reverse and rammed the police car. That's when officers opened fire.
Police say a passenger who had been carjacked and kidnapped was unhurt.
No officers were injured.
