The story behind Facebook pulled more people into movie theaers than stories of romance or horse racing.
Overall the box office didn’t draw a lot of friends this weekend. “The Social Network” came out on top for the second week in a row.
The drama directed by David Fincher and written by Aaron Sorkin about the start of Facebook way back six years ago drew $15.5 million.
Just behind that is the romantic comedy “Life As We Know It,” starring Katherine Hiegl. It drew just under $15 million dollars to land in second place.
Secretariat had better showings out on the track than at the box office. The film starring Dianne Lane tells the story of the last horse to win the Triple Crown. “Secretariat” raced to a total of $12.6 million for third place.
