The day after a feisty debate with her Democratic rival, Republican candidate for governor Meg Whitman shook hands with supporters at a landmark downtown Los Angeles restaurant.
Whitman had a few bites of a beef-dip sandwich at the century-old Philippe's restaurant Wednesday. She shook hands with customers, many of whom repeatedly asked her to help create jobs if she's elected Nov. 2.
Whitman said she plans to fight for every vote during a bus tour dubbed the "Take Back Sac Express."
She and Democrat Jerry Brown are on the final stretch of their campaign.
Whitman said Wednesday that she was happy with her performance in Tuesday night's debate, where she sparred with Brown on issues including state pensions, the economy and education.
