LA County supervisors approve new regulations for food trucks

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors today approved an ordinance that will extend the health department's letter-grading system for restaurants to the food trucks plying Los Angeles County streets.

The new regulation, which will take effect in 30 days, requires the owners of "mobile food facilities" to submit to semi-annual inspections, meet annual certification requirements and provide the Department of Public Health with current route information.

Also like the restaurant system, trucks and carts will be rated A, B or C.
