Los Angeles County auditors will examine finances for the scandal-plagued city of Bell to determine whether it can continue providing public services.
The county Board of Supervisors voted Tuesday to have the auditor-controller's office review the Los Angeles suburb's bills, cash reserves and other financial matters and report back within 30 days.
Bell has become the target of numerous investigations since the Los Angeles Times reported last July that numerous city officials were paying themselves exorbitant salaries.
Eight current and former officials face criminal charges of mishandling millions of dollars in city funds.
