Los Angeles police announce crackdown on jaywalking

Jaywalkers who try to cut corners in Los Angeles may find it's a costly shortcut.

Police tell KTLA-TV that they're starting a zero-tolerance policy for jaywalkers in this holiday season, especially in the historic downtown area.

A citation will set you back $191.

Financially strapped Los Angeles could use the cash but police say the crackdown is about safety, not money.
