A handful of Disneyland rides were closed Thursday when an electrical problem sent smoke wafting into Pinocchio's Daring Journey.
The smoke was reported just after noon in the Fantasyland section of Disneyland, said Maria Sabol of the Anaheim Fire Department.
“It was described as a wall producing smoke,” Sabol said. “We were called out because people could smell the smoke.”
Sabol said some electrical components and wood panels had been charred in a 5-square-foot area of the attraction.
“The situation was under control in less than 30 minutes,” Sabol said. “We didn’t really evacuate any people. The ride cycle ended and guests got off and new guests were not allowed to get on. The ride was closed, of course.”
Other rides closed because of the incident were: Peter Pan’s Flight, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Alice in Wonderland, the Storybook Land Canal Boats, Snow White’s Scary Adventures, the Mad Tea Party and the Casey Jr. Circus Train.
