“Tron: Legacy 3D" has rocketed to the top of the box office in a rather slow weekend before the start of the holiday.

The Jeff Bridges’ sci-fi sequel comes nearly three decades after the original flick. “Tron: Legacy” brought in about $44 million.

Overall, it’s been a rather sluggish couple of weeks at the box office.

A kids’ cartoon classic comes back with a modest welcome. "Yogi Bear," featuring the voices of Dan Aykroyd and Justin Timberlake, opened with about $17 million.

"The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader” is number three after being number one last weekend.

The Christian Bale/Mark Wahlberg boxing drama “The Fighter” came in fourth with about $12 million upon its nationwide release. It opened with stellar numbers in a very limited release last weekend.
