Gold Line extension 'scoping meetings' underway

You can scope out plans to run the Metro Gold Line from Pasadena to Montclair. Project managers will answer questions tonight in Glendora.

These meetings are about Phase 2B of the Gold Line extension. Phase 2A will take the light rail line from Pasadena to Azusa; that project is paid for and underway. Phase 2B will run the Gold Line from Azusa to Montclair – about 12-and-a-half miles. The Gold Line construction authority still needs to find half-a-billion dollars to get Phase 2B going.

“Scoping meetings” are your chance to look at the proposed timetable, route, stations – there are six of ‘em – and tell Metro officials what you like and what you don’t.

When the Phase 2B extension is done, a Gold Line trip from Montclair to Pasadena will take 40 minutes. Try driving that fast during rush hour today!

You missed the first scoping meeting last night in Pomona, but there’s another one tonight in Glendora – and two next week in Claremont and San Dimas. You’ll find the meeting schedule at FoothillExtension.org.
