Box office buzz this weekend is all around “The Green Hornet.”
The Seth Rogen/Cameron Diaz tongue-in-cheek superhero movie opened with $34 million. But the Hollywood studios are the ones feeling a sting. Overall, box office numbers are slumping.
Again this weekend, overall ticket sales are way down. Down by 25 percent, or more than $115 million compared to last year – when the 3-D sci-fi blockbuster "Avatar" was out.
This weekend’s other big release “The Dilemma” opened at number two. The Vince Vaughn /Kevin James movie brought in about $17 million.
Possible Oscar contenders “True Grit,” “The King's Speech” and “Black Swan” round out the top five at this weekend’s box office.
