Anthony Hopkins horror flick 'The Rite' tops box office

An Anthony Hopkins horror flick tops the box office this weekend. But overall the numbers may look pretty scary to Hollywood studios.

“The Rite” pulled in about $15 million. The PG-13 "Exorcist"-lite movie drew most of its audience from the over 25-year-old crowd.

The Paramount romantic comedy "No Strings Attached" is number two with about $14 million.

The other debut this weekend, the action film "The Mechanic" tinkered around 11-and-a-half million and tied for third with "The Green Hornet."

"The King's Speech" is in command after 10 weeks out. It drew in more than $11 million.

The Colin Firth film had a week of pomp and ceremony. Director Tom Hooper won the big prize during the Directors Guild Awards this weekend. And last week the film picked up a dozen Oscar nominations.
