Delta Air Lines Inc. is seeking to boost its profile in Los Angeles through a new promotional agreement with the owners of a massive sports and entertainment complex in the city's downtown.
The five-year deal announced Thursday between Delta and AEG gives the airline access to advertising placards, program naming rights and other promotional opportunities at the Staples Center arena and Grammy Museum.
The arrangement also provides for the AEG-owned Los Angeles Kings hockey team to promote the airline.
Delta vice president for marketing Tim Maples says in a statement that the airline is demonstrating its commitment to Los Angeles.
Delta is currently the fourth-ranked airline out of Los Angeles International Airport.
Airline spokeswoman Heather Faulkner said the deal's price tag would not be released.
