Prosecutors say they have received the autopsy report for Kelly Thomas, the mentally ill homeless man who died after a violent confrontation with six police officers.
The Orange County district attorney's office said Tuesday they received the cause of death but will hold a news conference Wednesday to announce whether any of the officers will face charges in the death of the 37-year-old.
Six Fullerton police officers were placed on paid administrative leave after the July 5 clash with Thomas.
He suffered severe head and neck injuries and was taken off life support five days later.
The case outraged residents in the suburbs southeast of Los Angeles and spurred protests, a recall effort and an investigation by the FBI.
