More than a year after a corruption scandal rocked the city of Bell, the new city leaders are taking steps to keep things transparent and keep Bell residents in the loop. Council members meet the public Thursday night.
Bell Council members say they’ll discuss this year’s annual budget and how they’re handling the city’s finances.
The community meeting’s among a couple of workshops the city’s hosting this month. Other topics up for discussion include transportation, infrastructure and hiring a new chief administrative officer.
Robert Rizzo, who previously held that job, faces corruption charges along with his former aide and city council members. Together, they’re accused of looting the city of more than $5 million.
Bell begins its search for a new city manager in February.
