Jurors sitting in Nicollette Sheridan's wrongful termination trial against Marc Cherry, creator of "Desperate Housewives," told the judge they were "having difficulty reaching a verdict" on Wednesday.
The judge ordered jurors home. They will try again Friday morning.
"I'm sensing some frustration and polarization," lawyer Mark Baute told CNN. "It's very early for a jury to come back and say, 'We're having trouble deliberating.'"
Jurors been asked to decide whether Cherry's decision to kill off Sheridan's character was in retaliation for an incident in which Sheridan complained he hit her "in the back of the head" during a rehearsal.
