Efforts to locate a football stadium in downtown Los Angeles are moving forward now that Anschutz Entertainment Group has released an environmental impact report on the project.
The report, which AEG spent $27 million on, clocks in at nearly 10,000 pages.
The proposed stadium seats 72,000 people, but developer Tim Leiweke promises that a good number will use mass transit to visit the stadium.
"We’re not going to make more highways," he maintains. "So it’s important for us and for this community that this is the first major project that has established itself as carbon neutral."
They hope that a quarter of patrons will come to the stadium without getting into their cars.
Leiweke says the company will cover the entire construction cost, currently projected at $1.5 billion.
