The conditions of three victims hospitalized following a collision between a station wagon and a medical facility have been upgraded from critical to serious, according to officials.
Three people are in serious condition after a car smashed into a building in Reseda.
A large station wagon plowed into a crowd of people outside a medical/dental building on Thursday morning, severely injuring a pedestrian and several people in the dentist's office.
LAPD lieutenant Debra Brownsten says the driver, an 82 year old woman, veered off the street at the corner of White Oak and Vanowen.
“At some point in time in the intersection, the driver lost control of the vehicle," according to Brownsten. "The cause has not been determined yet."
Two of the seriously injured were inside the office; one was outside. The driver herself was flustered, but not seriously injured.
“We did find six patients upon our arrival," says Matt Spence, a spokesman for the L.A. Fire Department. "Three were ultimately termed to be in critical condition. Two were actually pinned between the auto and the structure and did require extrication.” Their condition was upgraded to serious later Thursday afternoon.
The other three people suffered minor injuries.
