Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is scheduled to fly to Washington, D.C. today to attend the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner and tape an interview for “Face the Nation.”

During his two-day trip, Villaraigosa will also meet with the executive director of the U.S. Conference of Mayors. Villaraigosa is currently the group’s president.

The mayor will attend the White House dinner as a guest of Peter David, Washington bureau chief of The Economist. On Sunday, he will be a guest on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” alongside Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour.

The U.S. Conference of Mayors is footing the bill for Villaraigosa’s flight and hotel, according to his office. This is his second trip to D.C. this month. He is expected to return on Sunday.
