Gov. Jerry Brown will be in Washington, D.C. this weekend for a big-deal Saturday dinner and a Sunday morning talk show.

They call it the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner, an annual event that raises money for journalism scholarships. But lately, D.C. celebrities have been overshadowed by the California variety.

This year’s dinner is expected to attract both Kim Kardashian and Lindsay Lohan, as well as George Clooney, Zooey Deschanel and a native Californian with his own celebrity-laden past: Jerry Brown.

The governor’s office says Brown will also “hold meetings” on funding for the California National Guard and health care policy. Sunday morning, the governor has a one-on-one interview on “Face the Nation.”

This is just the second official trip Gov. Brown has made to Washington since taking office last year.
