An arraignment is scheduled Wednesday in Santa Ana for an Orange County man charged with killing his girlfriend and their two young sons, although police still haven’t found the bodies of the two boys.

Prosecutors arrested Shazer Fernando Limas over two weeks ago for the murders of 1-year-old Fernando, 3-month-old Emmanuel and 31-year-old Arlet Hernandez Contreras, the boys' mother.

Earlier this month, police found her body in La Puente.

Orange Police Sgt. Dan Adams said cadaver dogs have been sniffing through garbage at Irvine’s Frank Bowerman Landfill since April 14. That’s the day that detectives believe the murders happened.

“We don’t have any information as to their whereabouts," said Adams. "So we’re looking in the only place right now where we think would be the best, and that’s the landfill.”

Investigators previously searched a landfill in north Orange County. Both are where waste haulers dump trash from the family's Orange apartment complex.

Limas is being held at the Orange County Jail without bail. He faces arraignment on three murder charges.
