UCLA is seeking lesbian and bisexual women in L.A. county to participate in focus group meetings about the kind of healthcare they receive.

Starting Friday, researchers from the Iris Cantor-UCLA Women’s Health Center are partnering with the L.A. County Lesbian and Bisexual Women’s Health Collaborative to gather the information through several targeted focus groups.

The study will focus on the health care experiences of lesbian and bisexual women from particular ethnic and age groups in Los Angeles County. Specifically, researchers are seeking the experiences of African-American women, Asian/Pacific Islanders, Latinas, veterans and women of all races who are 65 and older.

The study’s aim is to collect data for a training program to help health care providers better understand the cultural needs and experiences of their lesbian and bisexual patients.
