A brush fire was burning in the Palmdale area on Tuesday afternoon.
About 200 firefighters responded to a brush fire in Palmdale Tuesday afternoon.
Tony Imbrenda of the Los Angeles County Fire Department said the brush fire had burned about 20 acres as of 5 p.m. on Tuesday in a grassy area off the side of the road at Avenue S where it meets the 14 Freeway.
Firefighters first responded to the fire just after 4 p.m.
Imbrenda said there were four water-dropping helicopters on scene – two from the city of Los Angeles and two from Los Angeles County.
"The thing looks like it's almost totally knocked down at this point because it was primarily in flatter terrain and light grass," he said.
No structures have been damaged or threatened and there have been no injuries. The cause is unknown.
