The U.S Chamber of Commerce teams up with state and federal agencies Tuesday in Century City for a job fair for veterans, active duty military and their spouses.
Gary Toebben, head of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, said he expects 75 employers and more than 500 veterans to participate.
"The jobless rate for veterans has declined for the past year," he said. "In fact, it has declined faster than the overall unemployment rate has gone down, but we still have way too many veterans that do not have a full-time job."
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring job fairs across the country as part of its “Hiring Our Heroes” initiative. Tuesday's job fair is the second in Los Angeles.
The Chamber says the initiative has put more than 10,000 veterans into jobs nationwide.
The job fair takes place at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza, 2025 Avenue of the Stars in L.A., from 9 a.m. until noon.
