FlyAway bus at Union Station
One route to Los Angeles International Airport this holiday weekend has stopped in its tracks.
The FlyAway bus service from Irvine to LAX ended. The non-stop bus service stopped running because the operator, Coach America, went bankrupt.
The non-stop FlyAway busses are an affordable and convenient option compared to cabs and shuttles for many travelers.
The other FlyAway buses are still moving along and riders can still get the airport from Union Station, Westwood or Van Nuys for $7 or $10 a ride.
Officials say nearly 1.5 million people used the services last year.
Los Angeles World Airports contracts out to companies to provide the service and is looking for another bus operator to pick up the route from Irvine to LAX.
