Many Southland businesses, restaurants and museums will offer discounts to people who stay out of their cars during Carmaggedon II later this month. The 405 freeway will close in both directions in the Sepulveda Pass during the weekend of September 29th.
LA County’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority has teamed with about 300 businesses to offer the discounts. Dave Sotero is a spokesman for Metro.
"Some of the destinations will require you to show a Metro pass, a tap card or a paper ticket to be able to utilize the discount. Others, you just say the word Carmaggedon and that will be the way you receive the discount."
Discounted attractions include the LA County Museum of Art, the Geffen Playhouse and Angels Flight - here's an interactive map of the entire list.
