Los Angeles doesn’t run light rail or subways directly to LA International Airport, but the FlyAway shuttle buses to and from various points might be the next best thing. It's an inexpensive, direct way to and from the airport from transit hubs at LA's Union Station and Van Nuys.
Shuttle fare on those routes is $7 each way from Union Station and Van Nuys. For years, the only way to buy tickets was in person with a credit card – no cash accepted. Now those tickets are available online.
They’re good for up to 30 days after purchase, and ticket holders can show the driver a printed receipt or proof of purchase on their smart phones. One thing about the exchange remains the same: no cash transactions, please.
Ticketing for the FlyAway Westwood route isn’t available yet. But LA World Airports, which runs the FlyAway service and LAX, promises that it’s on the way.
The shuttles carried 1,266,846 people between Union Station, Van Nuys and the airport last year, says LA World Airports.
