At a recent owners meeting in Chicago, the National Football League took another hard look at its options in the Los Angeles area. One of the stronger options is reportedly Dodgers Stadium.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell told CBS.com the area around Dodger Stadium is a “terrific site.”
The CBS report also quoted a source who says Dodger Stadium, with its abundance of parking, is the “preferred choice” among all the locations for a new NFL stadium.
Several league sources reportedly expressed doubt about AEG’s proposed downtown stadium, mainly because AEG is now up for sale. The sources question whether the new owner of the company will be ready to spend big money to complete the project.
The league continues to consider Ed Roski’s stadium proposal in the city of Industry, and a possible site near the Home Depot Center in Carson.
Whatever the location, the report said the NFL has "essentially ruled out" any move to Los Angeles before 2014.
