Federal authorities say a Tucson man has been arrested in connection with a child pornography case

They say 43-year-old Lance Robert Fries was taken into custody at his attorney's office without incident Friday afternoon by special agents with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.

Authorities say Fries is facing potential federal charges of production of child pornography. He's expected to make his initial appearance in federal court in Tucson on Monday.

They say Fries' arrest came after HSI released photographs Thursday of an unidentified man sought in connection with a child pornography case that involved the sexual exploitation of a young boy.

"This is truly a remarkable turn of events and it again demonstrates the collective power that can be brought to bear when law enforcement and the public team up to combat the sexual exploitation of children," said ICE Director John Morton. "Those who produce and trade child pornography over the Internet believe they're protected by the anonymity of cyberspace. Through our collective efforts, we're proving these predators wrong and gaining justice for their innocent victims."

Earlier this week another suspect, Letha Mae Montemayor, 52, was arrested outside a Los Angeles apartment building Thursday after several tips were sent to police about her whereabouts, authorities said Friday.

Authorities say the child porn images in the case were first discovered by HIS special agents in Oregon in 2006.
