AT&T is hiring 500 technicians in California to expand its network to handle more smartphones, tablets and TVs.
AT&T says it needs to hire more than 500 people in California, and many of those jobs will be in Los Angeles, Riverside and Orange counties.
AT&T area spokeswoman Meredith Red says the company is investing in its digital network in several cities to accommodate a growing number of phones, tablets, and televisions.
"We have spent 1.9 billion dollars in greater L.A., and now we need to hire people to get our services to our customers fast," Red says, adding that the company needs more than 160 technicians to splice wires and install setups in homes.
"We will train technicians," says Red, "but I think if you already have skills in that area, you’re bringing a lot to the table."
The jobs are full-time, with contracts up to three years, and offer health and retirement benefits. More information is at the company's website.
